Training courses – call for applications

Personer runt ett bord.

During the spring and early summer of 2026, Posithiva Gruppen wants to offer people involved with our organisation to take part in an educational effort we are making. These courses, organised by our partner In Dialogue, have a more professional direction than our regular lectures and seminars. These are trainings in professional competences that last for five days with all expenses paid. The knowledge you bring back can be used both in Posithiva Gruppen’s work and in your personal development. The courses are also opportunities to network with representatives from other European Human Rights NGOs.

All courses will be held in English, but for “Strength-Based Coaching and Guidance”, an interpreter will be available for Spanish-speakers. (Read more about the courses below.)

To participate for Posithiva Gruppen, you must be living with HIV and be a member, or be part of our staff.

If you want to take part in any of these courses, please fill out the application form which includes a motivational letter discussing how you think you will benefit from the training and for what purpose you want to take part. You can only participate in one of the courses, but if you are interested in several, please rank them in the order you would like to be considered for them.

Posithiva Gruppen’s participation is financed by Erasmus+ via Universitets- och Högskolerådet.

If you have questions, or want more detailed information about the courses, contact Andy Zetreus at andy.zetreus@posithivagruppen.se

The deadline for applications is 22 March 2026.

Inspiring facilitation, teaching and training – Ensuring creativity, engagement and feasible conclusions during meetings, in the classroom, at workshops and more

20-24 April 2026, Copenhagen, Denmark

This training offers you diverse question techniques focusing on connecting the topic of your training or teaching to the concrete practice of the learners, exploring their challenges in depth, bringing in perspectives of others, playing with future scenarios and finally planning the future. Furthermore, it offers you diverse process exercises to stimulate engagement, creativity and dialogue in ways that ensure that everybody’s voice is heard and that conclusions are reached when needed.

The starting point will be social constructionist, systemic and appreciative approaches to change and learning. These approaches first of all tell us that development happens when a space is created in which each single person is listened to, and his or her perspective fully appreciated and understood, where the dialogues are “separated”, so that people truly listen to each other’s perspectives and build on these. Secondly the approaches tell us that the process needs to be guided, first with negotiating the framework and after this through certain phases that first open up for creativity and diverse perspectives and after that narrows the discussion down towards its purpose and a conclusion.

Consulting and development of teams and groups – Facilitating dialogue in established teams and groups with high stakes – and reaching feasible conclusions

20-24 April 2026, Copenhagen, Denmark

The course is for people responsible for facilitating development- and decision-making-processes for teams and groups. E.g. managers, consultants, controllers, school psychologists, supervisors, HR-consultants etc. The focus will be on facilitating dialogue and decision-making in teams and groups with diverse stakeholders, different levels of hierarchy, disagreement about past challenges and future direction etc (eg. a team of teachers, a project-team, the network around a pupil/student, a unit at an organisation). The methods can be applied both for team development (coaching) as well as for dealing with disagreement and challenges in the team or group.

Most people know all too well of formal and non-formal meetings and workshops were different opinions are exchanged, where you focus more on the points you want to make yourself than on listening to the others, or where no conclusions are reached after extended and maybe heated discussions. The training offers you diverse tools to turn this around and make sure that everybody’s voice is heard and that conclusions are reached when needed.

Strength based coaching and guidance – Empower people to take action in their own lives, set their own goals and find the strengths to carry them out!*

18-22 May 2026, Gouda, Netherlands

The strength-based approach to coaching offers a palette of questions that helps the focus person set goals and overcome difficulties at work (or in life generally) in a relatively short time. The focus of the coaching techniques is on what works rather than what doesn’t work. The road goes via goals, wishes, previous experiences of success, and resources. Rather than getting blinded by starring at problems and all the things that fail, we ask about what the person wants and what the person succeeds with. Concretely the approach consists of a set of questions that make the focus person reflect, and which eventually leads to change.

The person that has a problem also has the key to its solution. We do not need to understand the reason of a problem to solve it (we do not need to know why the house is burning to extinguish the fire).

*If you are accepted to participate in this training, you are expected to participate in Posithiva Gruppen’s peer support programme after completion.

Conflict management & mediation – Repairing relations and benefitting from differences
15-19 June 2026, Copenhagen, Denmark

The course looks at conflict mediation from a social constructionist and appreciative perspective. Just as well as differences and disagreements can lead to conflicts and cause great destruction, they can also be a potential for growth and open up to new possibilities for change and development. The focus will be on giving you an ability to inquire into the good reasons of others and appreciate their perspective (even when you disagree). Furthermore it will train you in asking questions that reveal the patterns of the conflict as well as of the times where things worked better. This encourages the parties to act differently without feeling blamed, and relationships will be repaired.
