Everyone living with HIV in Sweden has the right to receive free care and treatment for their HIV. This means that HIV medication and your HIV care visits are free, regardless of your legal status.
Your application for a residence permit will never be refused on the grounds of your HIV status, so you do not have to hide your HIV status from the authorities. If you are applying for asylum, it is important that you tell your public counsel that you are living with HIV so that they can include it in your application.
